> Reducing the impact of AIDS on children and youth

The world is not on-track to achieve its ambitious HIV targets for children and youth. Progress in preventing new HIV infections among children, adolescents and young people remains too slow, and progress in increasing antiretroviral treatment coverage for pregnant women, children and young people has stalled. The 2019 NGO Report builds on the foundations laid thus far for UHC while looking ahead to its next phase, when the Political Declaration will be operationalized. Our NGO Delegation

The Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) was created to serve as the governing body of UNAIDS. The PCB includes a Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Delegation composed of five members and five alternates that represent five geographic regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America.

UNAIDS and the UN

UNAIDS was established in 1994 through a resolution of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and made operational in January 1996.
