The NGO Delegation to the UNAIDS PCB is calling for nominations for members of the Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG) to support the development of the thematic segment of the 56th PCB meeting. The topic for this year’s thematic segment is:
“Beyond 2025: Countering health inequities through sustaining the HIV response, human rights, and harm reduction for people who use drugs.”
The UNAIDS PCB Thematic Segment serves as a platform for knowledge sharing and policy discussions on critical issues affecting the global HIV response. As the world moves beyond 2025, ensuring equity in HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support—particularly for people who use drugs—remains a key challenge. This thematic segment will examine how the HIV response can address health inequities through harm reduction, human rights-based approaches, and sustainable programming.
To ensure that civil society voices are meaningfully included in this process, the NGO Delegation is forming a Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG). The CSAG will provide expert guidance and insights, particularly on:
- Reviewing and providing input on the draft Background Note, including submitting or recommending case studies.
- Shaping the Thematic Segment program, including identifying speakers and key discussion areas.
- Developing advocacy messages, key asks, and proposed Decision Points (DPs) for the Thematic Segment on 26 June 2025.
Why Join the CSAG?
The CSAG plays a critical role in ensuring that the experiences, perspectives, and priorities of communities most affected by HIV—including people who use drugs—are well-represented in the Thematic Segment discussions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to global HIV policy, share expertise, and advocate for the needs of key populations.
Please note: This is an unpaid, voluntary position.
How to Apply
We invite civil society organizations and individuals with experience in HIV advocacy, harm reduction, drug policy, human rights, and community-led responses to express their interest in joining the CSAG.
