Winnie Byanyima launches NGO Delegation’s renewed website, logo and visual identity

We proudly present our new visual identity and renewed website. At the end of the 52nd PCB meeting, UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima officially launched our new website and congratulated our delegates on this milestone that aims to improve our communication with our constituencies.

At the presentation, Winnie Byanyima said: “As the NGO delegation launches its new website, I would like to congratulate you for your unique role on UNAIDS’ Programme Coordinating Board. Your powerful voices ensure that the needs, concerns, and perspectives of people living with and affected by HIV from across the globe are included in global policies to end AIDS. UNAIDS is proud to stand with you.”

Our communication working group wanted to reshape the previous website into a platform that offers civil society organizations more ways to engage with the NGO Delegation and its members. The searchability of documents the NGO Delegation has produced since it was established as an integral part of the Programme Coordinating Board of UNAIDS back in 1994 was in need of a major upgrade.

Midnight Poonkasetwattana, a member of the communication working group, sums up the goal of the NGO Delegation: “Our working group worked hard to ensure that the new NGO Delegation website is intuitive and easy to navigate. Our constituents can find the most relevant information needed for their advocacy work and are updated on what we’re doing and where they can contribute. We’re also proud of our new visual identity, which is bold and clearly puts our mission on HIV/AIDS.”

The communication working group and CCF worked closely together with Carsten Lund Thomsen, the designer of the new NGO Delegation logo and the website: “When the NGO Delegation approached me to design a new logo, identity, and website, I aimed to create a fresh and memorable identity that could elevate them to a new level of respect and professionalism in their important work for the UNAIDS PCB. My intention was to create a colorful and inclusive space, like a safe house, for the delegates to carry out their tasks.”

Carsten highlighted the changes in the structure of the website: “I chose to develop a more traditionally structured website as it needs to serve as an important communication tool, ensuring easy access to the documents they produce. Collaborating with the CCF and the NGO Delegates has been really inspiring, and the feedback they provided during the design process has motivated me to deliver better work. I am grateful to the CCF and the delegates for entrusting me with this responsibility, and I wish them the best of luck in their work for the UNAIDS PCB.”
