Delivering on SDG3: Strengthening and integrating comprehensive HIV responses into sustainable health systems for Universal Health Coverage

At its 43rd meeting, the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) agreed that the topic of the thematic segment of its 44th meeting would be Delivering on SDG3: Strengthening and integrating comprehensive HIV responses into sustainable health systems for Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This thematic segment provides an opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges in the joint efforts to achieve two important targets under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, “end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water- borne diseases and other communicable diseases” (target 3.3) and “achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all” (target 3.8) for ensuring healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages.

Our NGO Delegation

The Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) was created to serve as the governing body of UNAIDS. The PCB includes a Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Delegation composed of five members and five alternates that represent five geographic regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America.
