UNAIDS has recently embarked on a process to review the UNGASS indicators, which includes revisions to indicators related to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and enabling environment.

The overall objective of the UNGASS indicators review is to identify strengths and weakness in the reporting system and indicators themselves, culminating in recommendations to the Indicator Technical Working Group of the MERG for future rounds of reporting

The International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are conducting a broad stakeholder e-consultation on the UNGASS ‘Enabling Environment’ Indicators, with a focus on the National Composite Policy Index.

The e-consultation seeks to document the perspectives of multiple and diverse, country-level stakeholders that utilize, benefit from, and/or are otherwise are impacted by the UNGASS reporting process. Responses will inform the development of a report that recommends changes in the UNGASS indicator set and reporting process to the Indicator Technical Working Group (TWG) of the UNAIDS Monitoring and Evaluation Reference Group (MERG).
