Blood Drive Initiative is a non governmental organization with a desire to provide safe and sustainable blood supply through the recruitment and retention of voluntary non remunerated blood donors. In recognition of the role that transfusion of unsafe blood plays in new HIV infections, we began our campaign to encourage young people to donate blood. Our experience on the field has shown that the adoption of the habit of voluntary blood donation helps for commitment to a safe lifestlye and early detection of new infections. Both of which are keys to disease prevention and control. It will be our pleasure to serve on the UNAIDS PCB as African delegate. BDI is an associate member of the IFBDO

Thanks for the great post.

I would like to see this wonderful opportunity to many CSO working in the area of HIV/AIDS.

As of Somalia where i live and work is amongst low level or concentrated countries with lowest AIDS infection rates, the available information on HIV prevalence and risk behaviours has been limited, leaving communities vulnerable to the virus through lack of information.

In a conflict situation, there is always a break down of social services and in most cases, even the most basic of human needs become out of range for the common. The power imbalance between those who have and those who don't becomes so wide and often times, the young people (girls are more vulnerable) are forced to trade sex in a desperate bid to make ends meet.

I have worked with a Youth Organization in Somalia to fight HIV/AIDS.

Hope will join the PCB NGO Delegates if luck can totally transform one million realities.

Thanks

Hello, good say, i am so glad to see this king of opportunity, it is encouraging but i would ask if there are agencies that provide for the establishment of an NGO because that is the only avenue to reach the commons especially in Africa. I hunger to have one that caters for the rights of orphans, house-helps; who are usually stereotyped as witches/wizards and the right of women. I intend using schools and skill acquisition centres and talent hunt as a strategy but i do not see it coming because of funds. I seek your advice and assistance. Thanks

Dear author of NGO report,

Stigma, discrimination and Human Rights Violations at three specific social phenomenon with deep interconnection. And, remain as they key barrier to effective HIV prevention, care and support. I am wondering, why this report is silent on Human Rihts Violations? Unless you address Human Rights Violations, you can't address Stigma and Discritiminaiton. Hope the delegation will explaing, why they did not address Human Rights issues along with Stigma and Discrimination?

Thank you
