In welcoming the Statement of the UNAIDS Executive Director, the Programme Coordinating Board:

Recognizing the exceptionality of AIDS, stresses the link between AIDS and the long term development agenda, including the strengthening of health systems, and the need to apply the Paris agenda on aid effectiveness in the AIDS response;

10.2: Report of the PCB Task Force on SIE follow-up related to all aspects of Governance

Reiterates its commitment to the results of the Global Task Team Assessment which were adopted by the PCB at its 20th meeting in June 2007, in particular that: bilateral partners should fulfil their global commitments to the Rome and Paris Declarations and Global Task Team processes, ensuring that global and country level funding and programming is consistent with these global commitments and supports implementation of the Global Task Team recommendations. Of particular relevance is the need to shift away from funding individual UN agencies and individual programmes to funding Joint Programmes of Support that are consistent with national priorities and the UNAIDS division of labour, and to ensure coordination of technical support provision (Global Task Team recommendation 16);
